October-November Show and Tell

The October meeting was a busy one.  We had a news reporter doing a story about our Guild, a big member turn-out, and tons of Show and Tell.  The link to the story is directly below.  It may not work indefinitely, but as of this writing, it does.  You may need to create a user name and password to view the article, but there's no cost.

The Post Tribune Article

As mentioned above, there was a lot of Show and Tell in October.  Some of the below photos may look familiar because members were urged to bring in projects that were taught at a Chapter meeting, EGA State Day, at one of the EGA's regional or national seminars, on-line correspondence course or cyber challenge.  There are so many educational opportunities in this organization!  In order to keep the length of this post manageable, just the photos will be shown without comments.  Needless to say, all the projects are gorgeous!

Heritage Quilters Show

Earlier this month, our Chapter participated in the Heritage Quilters Show, held on October 2nd and 3rd at the United Methodist Church in Crown Point, Indiana.  Here are some photos from our little corner of the show.

It was a great exhibit!

September Show & Tell

We had a nice turnout for our September meeting, and there was much eye candy in the form of recently finished projects displayed at Show & Tell.  Here are the pieces completed by our talented members:

Becky M stitched these two cute Christmas ornaments.

Becky also completed this lovely little Peace picture.

Janet C knit this warm-looking hat,
and finished the scissor fob
which was a Chapter class taught earlier this year.

Marj H stitched this adorable Christmas tree picture...

... and thinking outside of the box, as always,
she made this original whole cloth crazy quilt pincushion
using a CD as a foundation...

...and she brought in this stunning Su embroidery of
Sun God Birds that was given to her as a gift.

Pam S brought in this lovely sampler
which was a Chapter stitch-along a couple of year back...

...she finished this darling Christmas design as a box top...

...she stitched this gorgeous canvaswork piece...

...and finally she also stitched this cute little heart ornament.

Pat B stitched this "Count Twice Stitch Once" design,
finished as a drum pinkeep by
the talented Karen J,
also a Chapter member.

Renee R brought in a whole boatload of goodies.
Clockwise from top left: a redwork pillow,
two quilts, four pincushions, a scissor fob,
two potholders, and a ribbon work project
which was taught at last year's GLR fall seminar.

Finally, Wendy L stitched this
beautiful blackwork piece,
which was from the EGA Education catalog...

...and she also stitched this
cute little Stitching Friends piece,
which was featured at a
retreat that she attended earlier in the year.

Lovely work, Ladies.
Keep on stitching!
