Education 2011

Note from Karol J:

I know that January 2011 seems a long way away,
but we have already been working
on our classes for next year!

I think you all will be
really pleased with the
wide array of projects we
have picked out for you.

But, we do have one dilemma.

I am still looking for a few more teachers.

Are you willing to share your talents
with the rest of the group?

We have projects already picked,
you will just need to guide the group
who takes the class,
and, of course, stitch it yourself.

There are always a lot of us
willing to help.

If you have questions, please contact me
via e-mail or see me at a chapter meeting.

May you be blessed with stitches

Education Display for the Needle Art Exhibit

Note from Karol J:

Are you willing to share some of your
past, completed,
education pieces for the show?

We will have a designated area featuring some of
our past education pieces.

I will be on hand throughout the show
to answer questions
about the
education portion of our guild.

Please note that you will need to
fill out the insurance forms
for each piece;
please mark on top EDUCATION

If you have any questions or comments,
please contact me via e-mail
or speak to me at a Chapter Meeting.

Belated Thanks

Thanks a bunch to everyone who came out to help prepare materials for Camp Quality. We had a great group: Janet Charleston, Renee Stern, Renee Reimer, Sue Hansen, Pat Bellinger, Karen Pinta, Cathryn Wurzer. We chatted as we cut plastic canvas and yarn into usable lengths and tied it into bundles. Each camper will get canvas, a hank of yarn, a dog tag, and a needle.

We will be teaching at Camp Quality on the morning of Friday, August 7th. We're still looking for teachers.

Thread the Needle ...

Thread the Needle Day

Per Holiday Insights web site:

Today is Thread the Needle Day (July 25th). You can be certain that today is going to be a great day........ if your sew.

Thread the Needle Day certainly is a day for those who sew. It also has a second meaning. The term "thread the needle", is also a saying. It means to either walk a fine and difficult line between two things or issues, or to do something difficult. For example, suppose two of your friends are on opposite sides of an issue. You may have to "thread the needle" on that issue, as you attempt to retain both of them as your friend.

The creator of Thread the Needle Day did not document this day. So, until we find him or her, you can celebrate today by either sewing or threading the needle on issues.
