Sampler

June, August + October Classes
Cranberry Pinafore
Shepherd's Bush Sampler

1st class – June
2nd class – August
3rd class October

This sampler from 1997 is done in cream, rose and green Au Ver A Soie Silks on 32 count hand-dyed Belfast linen.
Design area is 51 X192 stitches.

The stitches in this sampler are:
Smyrna Cross, Chain Stitch, Checkerboard, Diagonal Satin, Whitework, Wide Herringbone, Satin Stitch, Wide Cross, Flower Stitch, Herringbone, Woven Diamonds, Fence Stitch, Pulled Work, Swedish Weaving, Satin Triangles, Rice Stitch, Hungarian Stitch, Long-Armed Cross, and Woven Cranberries.

This design is for the Intermediate/Advanced Stitcher.
I recommend that every member attending this class
should bring a “doodle cloth”
and thread to practice each stitch during the classes.

This sampler comes as a complete kit but with not a lot of overage if you make mistakes and have to remove stitches.
The silks provided can vary in dye lots and be difficult to match if you should run short of silk.

Kits must be ordered from Shepherd’s Bush well in advance.
Price is $34.00
Sign-up deadline: March meeting.

Stitch - in - Public Day

Note from Renee R:

Hello Everyone

Just a reminder that we are still planning to have Stitch In Public Day at the Lake County Public Library Central Branch, 1919 W 81st Ave (US 30) in Merrillville tomorrow from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m..

We will be in the lower level conference room. We have invited the public to join us for some stitching fellowship time. The Library tells me six people have officially signed up but they are expecting drop ins.

This is intended to be a very casual come and go as you please event. Stay for an hour...stay all day!

I hope you will informally share about the project you are working on and will talk about the EGA and our NANI Guild. We will have some beginner projects for anyone stopping by to try their hand at embroidery.

No formal snacks or food are planned so plan to bring a lunch and drinks if you are staying awhile. There is a small kitchenette in our room and some vending machines at the Library.

This is a great event to wear your name tag!

If you would like to bring a project for display that day...feel free. You will be responsible to take it home with you when you leave.

I'm excited to have some scheduled stitching time...I'm bringing my Mary Wigham SAL to work on! Hope to see you there!

Renee R

P.S. If you are planning to stitch in public somewhere else...would you let me know...I would like to gauge participation in SIP Day this year.
