2015 Stitch-in-Public Day Recap

On Saturday, February 21st, a group of hearty chapter members and several guests participated in our annual Stitch-in-Public Day, this year held at the Lake County Library in Merrillville, Indiana.

We had lovely projects from our members

being displayed all month at the library.

Inside the room we used,

there was a table with NANI literature

and some precious small projects stitched by members.

We also had a table with embroidery books

for our guests' perusal.

The weather cooperated

(it didn't snow)

and a good time was had by all!

So Long, Karen

Last month the Needle Artisans of Northwest Indiana lost one of its own.  Karen was a charter member of our EGA chapter, and a very accomplished needlewoman.  She was also very skilled at putting the finishing touches on a stitched piece.  One of our members described it as taking a scrap of linen and turning it into a piece of art.  Here are just a few of Karen's finishes:
